This business start-up was led by a highly seasoned business owner with 20 years of experience in the butchery trade. After selling his two old butchery retail businesses, the owner set out to start a new wholesale meat business
Collaborating closely, we developed the company's strategic vision, set conservative growth goals, crafted a 10-year plan, and established an exit strategy for the business owner so he never became entrenched in the business and acted as an owner rather than an operator—able to put his attention on growth-focused tasks rather than purely operational ones.
We formulated a recruitment strategy and organisational structure for the business and provided guidance on proper recruitment and implementing effective Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). To streamline operations, we assisted him in completely automating internal processes.
We established sales goals, devised a comprehensive sales process and implemented a sales training program, upskilling him in sales techniques and marketing strategies. (Although he had amassed experience running a business over the years, sales were not his forte!). Starting out with single orders of $500pm, he progressively increased to having single orders of up to $80,000pm. A huge leap!
Financial and cash flow management were also part of the training and learning process.
The results were remarkable. The owner swiftly achieved the conservative 5-year goal of $1 million in revenue, surpassing expectations by generating over $3 million in less than three years! Today, it has a current valuation of over $4-5 million.
He now casually oversees his business, having built a system that operates efficiently without his constant presence. The business continues to experience growth and has allowed him to invest in property and set his children up for success.
