Achieving profitable business growth means increasing revenues, decreasing costs, or both. More money coming in means more money for you and your business. Here are 4 achievable ways to increase revenues.

  1. Sales, sales, sales!

Nothing grows a business like sales (especially early on) so never underestimate the value of spending time converting leads into sales and finding new customers.

Set goals for the amount of income you wish to earn and then work out how much you need to sell to earn it.

Next, examine the amount of time you are actually devoting to sales. Be honest with yourself!  If you feel there are too many other demands on your time, look at tasks you can outsource or pass on to staff.

Business growth should be your key focus so give yourself the time to do it well.

  1. Get connected, build a network

Get to know more people. A network isn’t a client list, it’s a group of connected people who can add value to you and your business. The bigger your network, the more people you can work with whom you know and trust. With the right network, you may never need to cold-call again!

You can build your network online using Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites, or in person at networking events and seminars.

  1. Enhance your reputation

Pro-active marketing is great for your business because the more people who know about you, the better.  Get out there and get known as a leader in your field. It will build your brand image and help you find potential customers.

Speaking at conferences or seminars and writing material on your topic of expertise are fantastic ways of getting known. Build your credibility by asking current customers for testimonials you can use to promote you and your business.

  1. Invest in yourself

Achieving your business growth goals is exciting and a little nerve wracking. Amongst the joy will be the realisation you don’t have all of the skills or tools you need to manage the growth.

For the sake of your business, make learning a priority. Knowledge can be gained through enrolling in courses, attending seminars and conferences, finding the right mentor and reading. You are the future of your business so invest in improving your knowledge.
